The Prague Visitor Pass does not pay back for this plan. The paid sights above, the Castle, Old Town Hall with the lift, Jewish Museum, Petřín with the Mirror Maze, Old Town Bridge Tower and Clementinum, come to about CZK 2,430, and a 72-hour transport ticket adds CZK 340, against CZK 3,300 for the 72-hour pass. The pass beats buying separately only from about nine paid entries.
Fitting the plan to your dates
- Keep Saturday for something else. The Jewish Museum is closed every Saturday and on Jewish holidays, so put Day 2 on any other day. The Old-New Synagogue usually closes an hour before Shabbat on Fridays.
- On a Sunday, St Vitus Cathedral opens at 12:00, so start Day 1 in the Old Royal Palace and the other buildings and leave the Cathedral to last.
- From 18 October the Jewish Museum closes at 16:30, and from 1 November the Castle’s buildings close at 16:00 and the Castle Gardens close for the winter: start both days early.
- Book the Clementinum first. Tickets for a tour two weeks ahead appear on a Monday and the tours are limited, with no guaranteed sale at the door.
- In December, the Christmas markets on Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square run from 28 November 2026 to 6 January 2027: see Prague Christmas markets.
- Tram and train works change some routes in October: see Prague public transport for the fares and the dates.

If you have more time
With less, Prague in one day picks the sights for one day. With more, a fourth day buys a longer trip: Český Krumlov and Karlovy Vary go by bus, Dresden and Bohemian Switzerland cross the border, and Terezín is the memorial north of the city. A spare hour on metro C goes to Vyšehrad, a free fortress above the river. For the evening on any of the days, see Prague ghost tours and the medieval dinner, and for tables worth booking, where to eat in Prague; for a food tour, Prague food tours compared. For the dates, see best time to visit Prague.
For the airport, see Prague Airport to the city centre; for the fares, Prague public transport; for where to sleep, where to stay in Prague and hotels near Old Town Square; and for every booking and how far ahead, what to book before you go in Prague.
Common questions
Is 3 days enough for Prague?
Enough for Prague Castle and Malá Strana, the Old Town with the Jewish Quarter, and either a day trip such as Kutná Hora or a day of the beer experience and a concert. A fourth day buys a second trip, such as Karlštejn by train.
What should I book for 3 days in Prague?
Only the Clementinum tour needs booking ahead: its e-tickets are released every Monday for the following two weeks. The Castle's Main circuit (CZK 450, valid two days), the Old Town Hall tower and the Jewish Museum (CZK 600) can be bought on the day, and the Jewish Museum is closed on Saturdays.
Is the Prague Visitor Pass worth it for 3 days?
Not for this plan. The paid sights in it come to about CZK 2,430, and a 72-hour public transport ticket adds CZK 340, against CZK 3,300 for the 72-hour pass. The pass needs about nine paid entries to beat buying separately.
What are the opening hours for Prague Castle in October and November?
The historical buildings are open 9:00 to 17:00 until 31 October and 9:00 to 16:00 from 1 November. St Vitus Cathedral opens at 12:00 on Sundays.
