Trolleybus 59 and the metro

CZK 50 · about 35 minutes to the centre · every 3 to 10 minutes by day

Trolleybus 59 replaced bus 119 on 6 March 2024 and runs on the same route to Nádraží Veleslavín, a station on metro A (PID). PID gives the journey to the centre as about 35 minutes, and DPP puts the trolleybus ride to Veleslavín at 17 minutes (PID; DPP).

  • From Veleslavín, metro A runs through Dejvická, Hradčanská (for the Castle), Malostranská (Malá Strana), Staroměstská (Old Town Square and the Jewish Quarter), Můstek and Muzeum (Wenceslas Square). Staroměstská, Malostranská and Hradčanská are not on DPP’s step-free list; Můstek and Muzeum are.
  • The stop: PID’s airport page says the Terminal 1 boarding stop is closed during road repairs, and that you board at the Terminal 2 stop; follow the signs.
  • The ticket: one 90-minute ticket covers the trolleybus and the metro. Buy it in the PID Lítačka app (CZK 46), from a machine at the stops or in the arrival halls (CZK 50), at a DPP counter, or by SMS (CZK 55). A paper ticket must be stamped once in the yellow machine on the platform; an app ticket must be activated at least 60 seconds before you board. Travelling without a valid ticket is a CZK 2,000 surcharge, or CZK 1,200 if paid on the spot (PID).
  • The 24-hour and 72-hour tickets (CZK 140 and 340 in the app) cover trolleybus 59 and the metro, but not the Airport Express.

Bus 100 and bus 191

The same ticket · bus 100 to Zličín, bus 191 to Anděl

Bus 100 runs to Zličín, where metro B starts, every 10 to 20 minutes by day. DPP gives 16 minutes to Zličín and PID about 45 minutes to the centre. Bus 191 runs to Anděl in about 51 minutes via Petřiny and Na Knížecí, which is slow, but it is the one that goes direct to Smíchov (DPP).

The Airport Express bus

CZK 200 · about 40 minutes · non-stop to the main station

The Airport Express (AE) runs non-stop from Terminal 1 to Praha hlavní nádraží, where metro C and the trains start, in about 40 minutes by DPP’s figure (PID says about 45). It costs CZK 200 for an adult and CZK 100 for children from 6 to 15 and for dogs; children under 6 travel free, and luggage is free (DPP).

  • The ticket: an ordinary PID ticket is not valid on the AE, and neither are the 24-hour and 72-hour tickets. Buy from the driver (cards are accepted), at the DPP counters in the arrival halls, or at the DPP information centre at the main station. Valid international and Czech Railways tickets are also accepted.
  • The Prague Visitor Pass is valid on public transport and on Airport Express buses (Prague Visitor Pass). Is the Prague Visitor Pass worth it? says when it pays back.
  • The stop at the main station moves. Building works at Praha hlavní nádraží began on 13 July 2026, and PID lists a temporary change to the route and stops of the AE at the station from 3 August 2026, until further notice. Follow the signs and the PID app, not a stop name from an older guide (PID).
  • It does not stop at Terminal 2 on the way to the centre.

Night buses 907 and 910

Metro and day lines stop at about midnight. Night buses 907 and 910 run to the airport without a change, on the same tickets as by day: the 910 every 30 minutes to Na Beránku via I. P. Pavlova, and the 907 every 60 minutes (every 30 from June to September) to Baně via Hradčanská, Náměstí Republiky and Anděl. PID gives about 45 to 50 minutes from the centre (PID).

Taxis and Uber Airport

A fixed price shown before the ride · order in the Uber app, at a kiosk or at the counter

Prague’s cap on taxi fares ended on 30 September 2026, so an ordinary taxi has no list price to quote (Prague Price Bulletin 87/2026). The airport’s only official taxi is Uber Airport, which shows a fixed price before the ride and runs 24 hours a day (Prague Airport).

  • To order: use the Uber app, a kiosk in the arrival hall (card only) or the counter (07:00 to 21:00, card or cash). You get a six-digit PIN to give the driver. The pick-up is in front of the arrival halls of both terminals.
  • Other taxis wait at the express car parks P1, P2 and PB, the “Taxi Point”. Agree the price before you get in. A licensed taxi shows a TAXI sign, a yellow sticker and the driver’s ID card; ask for a printed receipt. The airport warns about overcharging and altered meters, and the Municipal Police take calls on 156 (Prague Airport).

Booked ahead

A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall and waits if you are delayed. DPP warns that passport control at Terminal 1 may take longer than usual under the EU’s entry/exit system (DPP).

  • Shared shuttle: the Prague Airport shared shuttlead is from £14.44 (4.7 stars from 7,069 reviews, 45 minutes to 1½ hours). The minibus, for up to 8 passengers, leaves once the passengers from certain flights have gathered, with a maximum wait of 30 minutes. It serves hotels and addresses in central Prague.
  • Private transfer: the private transferad is from £34.04 for up to two people (4.8 stars from 3,302 reviews, 30 minutes).
  • Coach to Florenc: the bus transfer to Florenc Central Bus Stationad is from £4.36 (4.2 stars from 1,532 reviews, 30 to 45 minutes). Florenc has metro lines B and C.
