💡 The Short Version: Buy from the Alcázar’s own shop: the general ticket is €15.50, in a name, for a 30-minute slot, with no changes and no refunds. The upper royal rooms (Cuarto Real Alto) are a separate €5.50 timed visit, booked online. The €8 reduced ticket (over 65s and students or Carnet Joven holders aged 14 to 30) is open to everyone, not only EU citizens. The office opens at 9:00 and keeps a small same-day quota. The ticket also opens three council museums free the same day or the next. Or book a tour: the small-group guided tour with entryad is from €49.50 and the Alcázar, Cathedral and Giralda tourad from €53.40.
The tickets
The Alcázar sells tickets at alcazardesevilla.infoticketing.com, its only online shop, and at its ticket office. The visitor information is at alcazarsevilla.org. Search results for “Real Alcázar tickets” include sites with the palace’s name in their web address that say on their own pages they are independent sellers.
| Ticket | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| General | €15.50 | The ground floor of the palaces, and the gardens |
| Cuarto Real Alto | €5.50 | The upper royal rooms, a separate timed visit sold in the shop as “Visit Royal Alcázar + Royal Upper Rooms” |
| Reduced | €8.00 | Over 65s; students aged 14 to 30; holders of the Carnet Joven Europeo (European Youth Card) aged 14 to 30. Open to everyone; documents are checked at the Lion Gate |
| Free | €0 | Children to 13 with an adult; people born or resident in Seville (booked in advance); disability of 33% or more, with a companion; unemployed people in Seville province; ICOMOS members |
- Every ticket carries a name. The shop asks for an ID card, NIE or passport number, and the physical document is checked at the entrance.
- Entry is by 30-minute slot. Go in through the Lion Gate (Puerta del León) from 15 minutes before the slot to 30 minutes after.
- No changes, no refunds. That includes illness and travel changes. The gardens can close for weather or safety without a refund.
- Only water. Food is not allowed, except for babies, and neither are pets other than guide dogs.
- The audio guide is free. Scan the QR code on the information page and it plays on your phone.

GetYourGuide’s Alcázar entry ticket is the same ticket resold from €20, which is €4.50 more.
The ticket office on the day
The office is in the Patio de Banderas. It opens at 9:00, takes cards only and sells same-day tickets only. When the shop shows a date as sold out, the office still keeps a very limited quota for each 30-minute slot, for the general visit only. On busy dates the Alcázar advises arriving at least an hour before it opens. The FAQ says there are no waiting lists, early releases or other channels.
The upper royal rooms
The Cuarto Real Alto is a timed visit within the visit. The slot you choose is the time you enter the upper rooms, so the Lion Gate lets you into the monument 60 minutes earlier, and you must be at the door of the upper rooms 15 minutes before your slot. Miss it and you buy new tickets for the next session. The office’s same-day quota does not apply to it, so book it online as soon as your dates are fixed.
What the ticket also opens
The general ticket includes free entry to three museums run by the city council: the Antiquarium under the Setas, the Casa Fabiola (Museo Bellver) and the ceramics museum in Triana. Show the Alcázar ticket on the same day or the next. All three are closed on Mondays, so a Monday Alcázar visit is best followed by a Tuesday in the museums. Seville museums has their hours, and Triana puts the ceramics museum on a walk.
Free Monday
The shop sells a “Free Monday” visit for a late-afternoon slot, booked online like any other ticket. The same name, ID and Lion Gate rules apply, and it does not include the upper royal rooms. It sells out. For the other free windows in the city, see free things to do in Seville. In summer the gardens also hold evening concerts, 63 of them between 25 June and 19 September 2026, at €7.
Tours worth paying for
A guided tour includes the ticket, so you pay for the guide and the pre-booked slot. “Skip the line” means the slot is booked for you: the Alcázar sells only timed entry. Prices are GetYourGuide’s lowest “from” prices, per person.

What to see
The Alcázar calls itself the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe, and the complex was made a World Heritage Site in 1987 with the Cathedral and the Archive of the Indies. Allow two hours: a guided tour of the palaces and gardens takes between 1.5 and 2 hours.

- The Patio del Yeso and the Admiral’s Hall. The Patio del Yeso is the courtyard of the Palace of the Plaster. Two Renaissance works are the polychrome tile altar of the Visitation that Francisco Niculoso Pisano made in 1504 for Queen Isabella, and, in the Admiral’s Hall, the altarpiece of the Virgin of the Sailors that Alejo Fernández painted in 1521.
- The Mudéjar Palace. Peter I built it, and it takes the longest, 45 minutes on the small-group tour. The Patio de las Doncellas has tile baseboards, and the Patio de las Muñecas has marble columns with capitals brought from Medina Azahara. The Crown Tours route includes the Salón de Embajadores.
- The Gothic Palace, built by Alfonso X, takes about 20 minutes on the small-group tour.
- The gardens, which have been cultivated for over a thousand years, are where Dorne’s Water Gardens were filmed for Game of Thrones. The gardens can close without notice for weather or safety.

What to skip: the Cuarto Real Alto if the slots are gone. The general ticket does not need it, and the ground-floor visit is complete without it.
