Common questions
How long is the train from Seville to Cádiz?
About 1½ to 2 hours from Seville Santa Justa, on Renfe's Media Distancia and Alvia trains, which call at Jerez on the way. Renfe's app or website gives the timetable and fare for your date.
How much is the Cádiz Cathedral?
€12 for a general ticket, €11 for over-65s and visitors with a disability up to 59%, and €10 for students aged 13 to 25. The Cathedral is open Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 20:00 and on Sundays from 13:30, with the last entry at 19:00. The visit takes about 1½ hours with the audio guide.
Do I need to book Torre Tavira in Cádiz?
Yes: the tower is visited by appointment, booked on its website, because capacity is limited. Admission is €8, or €6 reduced, and the visit takes 45 minutes. It is open every day except 25 December, 1 January and 6 January.
Is a tour from Seville to Cádiz worth it?
The 10-hour tours from €95 combine Cádiz with Jerez, a sherry bodega and, on one listing, the Royal Andalusian School's horse show, with the coach between the two. For Cádiz alone, the train gives more time in the city.
Can I go from Seville to Cádiz by boat?
From May to September, Cruceros Torre del Oro runs a river cruise to Sanlúcar de Barrameda, on the other side of the bay, for €55. It is not a route to Cádiz itself.
