From €12 · 4.6 stars · 7,611 reviews

Tours worth paying for
The ticket includes a guide, so a tour adds little inside the palace. The palace also takes private visits for small groups after it closes, led by an art historian; ask by the contact details on its visitor page. For the old town around it, the small-group walking tourad is from €22.50 for two hours.
What to see
The palace was built mostly in the 15th and 16th centuries, in a Gothic-Mudéjar and Renaissance mix (Mudéjar is the style of Muslim craftsmen working for Christian patrons), and has been a National Monument since 1931. The foundation calls it the largest and most sumptuous private residential complex in the city.

- The entrance and the patio. A Renaissance marble gate leads to the central courtyard, which has fountains and 24 busts of Roman emperors.
- The Chapel of the Flagellation, the oldest part of the palace, has a basket-handle arch where Christian and Islamic styles meet.
- The tiles. Glazed tilework runs through the courtyards and rooms. In the Salón del Pretorio, the ceiling is coffered.
- The gardens are Renaissance in style.
- The upper floor, if you buy the €6 ticket.

What to skip: the upper floor on a short visit. It is a separate ticket, and the ground floor has the courtyards, the chapel and the gardens.
The three palaces compared
Seville has three palaces that take visitors, and each is a different kind of building. The hours are the winter hours, October to March.
| Palace | Price | Hours | Who owns it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Real Alcázar | €15.50 | 9:30 to 17:00 | The royal palace, run by the Patronato del Real Alcázar |
| Casa de Pilatos | €12; upper floor €6 | 9:00 to 18:00 | The Medinaceli foundation |
| Palacio de las Dueñas | €15 | 10:00 to 18:00 | The Casa de Alba foundation |
Casa de Pilatos opens at 9:00, the earliest of the three, and its hours are the same every day of the week. The Alcázar and the Dueñas both have free Monday windows, booked online.
Practical information
- Hours: every day, 9:00 to 18:00.
