💡 The Short Version: Free in Seville comes with a rule. Monday afternoons: the Real Alcázar sells a free ticket in its shop, and the Palacio de las Dueñas is free from 16:00, with a €1 fee; both are booked online and sell out. Sundays: the Cathedral holds a free visit by reservation. Always free: the Archivo General de Indias (closed Mondays), the Plaza de España, the Parque de María Luisa and the lanes of Santa Cruz. The Torre del Oro asks a voluntary €3. Or book a walk: the private or shared must-see walking tourad is from €19.

Monday afternoons
Monday is Seville’s free day, and the rule is the same at both palaces: book online first.
- Real Alcázar. The shop sells a “Free Monday” visit for a late-afternoon slot. It carries a name and an ID or passport number, and you enter through the Lion Gate in the half-hour window. It does not include the Cuarto Real Alto. The ticket is free, and it sells out, so book it as soon as the shop shows the date.
- Palacio de las Dueñas. The free ticket is valid on non-holiday Mondays from 16:00 until access closes, 45 minutes before closing. There is a €1 management fee, and no changes or refunds.
- Torre del Oro. The city’s tourism site lists Monday as free. The Armada, which runs the museum, asks for a voluntary €3 for its upkeep on every day.
Monday also closes things. The Archivo General de Indias, the Museo de Bellas Artes, the Antiquarium, the Casa Fabiola and the Triana ceramics centre are all shut; Seville museums has the full list.
Sundays and Fridays
The Cathedral holds a free public visit on Sundays, except holidays, with limited capacity and a prior online reservation. Its paid hours that day start at 14:30, so a Sunday is for the Alcázar or the Archivo de Indias in the morning and the Cathedral in the afternoon. The times of the free visit are on the Cathedral’s rates page.
The Palacio de Lebrija offers a free pass for its ground floor on Fridays at 10:00, with limited places. Its site has the rest.
Open-air and always free
Plaza de España and the Parque de María Luisa
Free · no ticket
The Plaza de España was built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. The mayor announced in February 2024 a charge of €3 to €4 for visitors from outside Seville; El Correo de Andalucía reported on 8 June 2026 that he had shelved it before the May 2027 elections. There is no ticket today, and the Parque de María Luisa around it can close when the state weather agency issues a rain or wind alert. The Plaza de España page has the rest.
The old town and the riverside
The lanes of Santa Cruz and the riverside at Triana cost nothing, and the Archivo General de Indias, which shares the Alcázar’s UNESCO listing, is free inside. Triana is a free walk along the river.

The Archivo General de Indias
Free · closed Mondays
It is open Tuesday to Saturday 9:30 to 17:00 and Sunday and holidays 10:00 to 14:00, and closed on 1 and 6 January, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and 24, 25 and 31 December. Groups of more than 20 must book.

Flamenco without a ticket
Flamenco peñas, the members’ societies, sometimes open their recitals to the public, and some are free. Each peña decides, the rooms are small, and the places fill first. Flamenco shows in Seville compared covers the paid shows.
Small fees
- Museo de Bellas Artes: €1.50, free for accredited EU citizens and ICOM members, and for everyone on 28 February, 18 May, 27 September and 4 December.
- Antiquarium, Casa Fabiola and the Triana ceramics centre: free with a Real Alcázar general ticket, the same day or the next.
What is no longer free or open
- The Castillo de San Jorge in Triana is closed to visits. The hall by the Triana market is a tourist office, open daily from 9:30 to 14:30.
- La Carbonería, the free flamenco bar on Calle Céspedes, closed on 3 June 2026.
Closed days that change a free day
| Day | What changes |
|---|---|
| Monday | The Archivo de Indias, Bellas Artes, the Antiquarium, the Casa Fabiola and the ceramics centre are shut; the free Alcázar and Dueñas windows open in the afternoon |
| Friday | The Palacio de Lebrija’s free pass at 10:00 |
| Sunday | The Cathedral opens at 14:30; its free visit is by reservation |
What does not close: the Plaza de España, the parks, the Triana riverside and the Santa Cruz lanes. What to book before you go to Seville has the table for every sight, Seville in one or two days builds the closed days into a plan, where to stay in Seville covers the areas, and hotels near Seville Cathedral lists the hotels within walking distance of the Alcázar. The tip-based walks are on Seville walking tours, and Seville public transport has the tram fares.
