💡 The Short Version: The free party is on Avenida dos Aliados. In the 2025/26 edition it ran from 22:00, with a multimedia show and fireworks at midnight and a DJ set at 02:00. Porto Réveillon, a separate party at the Alfândega do Porto, is ticketed, with launch-campaign dinner tickets from €145. 31 December 2026 is a Thursday and 1 January 2027 a Friday, a national holiday on which Livraria Lello and Cockburn’s are closed. The free party on Avenida dos Aliados

The municipal party is on Avenida dos Aliados. The Câmara announces each year’s programme. The 2025/26 edition (agenda-porto.pt and Porto Secreto, both quoting the Câmara) ran like this:
- 22:00: Clã, a Porto band with 30 years on stage.
- Midnight: a multimedia show and fireworks, “Fluxo”, designed by Grandpa’s Studio.
- 00:30: Nininho Vaz Maia.
- 02:00: a DJ set by Beatbombers.
- 1 January, 16:00: the Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa played a New Year’s concert on the avenue.

The Gaia cable car closes on Christmas Day only. The tickets and hours are in Livraria Lello tickets, the Torre dos Clérigos, Porto’s museums and Porto’s port wine cellars. Many small restaurants close for days around the new year, so ring ahead.
