💡 The Short Version: The Day Pass is €35 for five museums, with three wine tastings, five rosés and a chocolate tasting. Two single museums at €20 each cost €40, so the pass is the better buy from two. The museums are open 10:00 to 19:00 with last entry at 18:00, and The Art of Drinking is closed Monday to Friday except for guided tours at 10:30 and 15:00, which fix a weekday plan. WOW stands in the historic centre of Vila Nova de Gaia, across the river from Porto. Or book a tour: the WOW Day Passad on GetYourGuide is the same €35, listed by World of Wine itself.

What to see
WOW is a district of restored port wine warehouses with five permanent museums, a sixth venue for temporary exhibitions (the Atkinson Museum), and restaurants, cafés and shops. Allow a half day to a day for the pass.
- Port and Wine Experience. WOW describes it as the world’s largest exhibition devoted to wine: how wine is made, Portugal’s regions from the Douro to Madeira and the Azores, and a guided tasting of a red, a white and a port.
- Pink Palace. Eleven rooms on rosé wine, with five tastings (among them Mateus Rosé and a Croft Pink rosé port), a pink ball pit and a pink Cadillac for photographs. It stays open to 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
- The Chocolate Experience by 20|20. The journey of chocolate from cocoa bean to bar, with a chocolate tasting.
- The Art of Drinking. An interactive museum on drinking rituals across civilisations.
- Porto Region Across the Ages. Immersive displays on the history of the Porto region.
The order to go round: on a weekday, plan round the guided times: The Art of Drinking at 10:30, Porto Region Across the Ages at 12:00, lunch in the district, then the Port and Wine Experience, the Pink Palace and the chocolate museum before the 18:00 last entry. The Art of Drinking has a second tour at 15:00 and Porto Region at 16:00. At weekends The Art of Drinking is open all day with audio-guided visits.
What to skip: a single museum if you plan two or more; the €35 pass is cheaper from the second.
For port made and aged on the other side of the hill, port wine cellars in Gaia lists the lodges from €16.
