💡 The Short Version: The RER B is the straightforward choice: €14, about 25 to 30 minutes to Gare du Nord and 30 to 40 to Châtelet-Les-Halles, every 10 to 20 minutes on weekdays. The RoissyBus stopped on 1 March 2026; its replacement, Express bus 9517, runs from the airport to Saint-Denis Pleyel (€2.55 on board) for metro line 14 into Paris. Taxis charge a flat €56 to the Right Bank or €65 to the Left Bank, 35 to 60 minutes; for four people that is the same as or close to four RER tickets. At night, the Noctilien N140 and N143 buses run to Gare de l’Est. Tickets are digital only: on a phone or a Navigo Easy card (€2.05); a bank card does not open the gates. Bus 9517 and metro line 14

€2.55 bus ticket · 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 from central Paris · replaced the RoissyBus on 1 March 2026

The Express 9517 does not come into central Paris. It links the Roissypôle bus station at the airport, a walk from Terminal 3 and CDG 1 station, with Saint-Denis Pleyel, the northern end of metro line 14 (parisaeroport.fr, 29 September 2026).

  • Time: about 45 minutes between Saint-Denis Pleyel and the airport, depending on traffic, and 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 from central Paris including the metro.
  • Hours: 5:30 to 00:30, every day. Every 15 minutes at peak times (6:00–9:00 and 15:30–19:00 on weekdays), every 30 minutes during the day; at weekends, every 20 minutes by day and every 30 in the evening.
  • Fare: €2.55, bought on board by card, at a machine or on your phone, plus your metro fare to Saint-Denis Pleyel.
  • The coaches have luggage holds, air conditioning and USB sockets.
  • Other connections: the 9517 also stops at Carrefour Pleyel (metro 13), Stade de France–Saint-Denis (RER D) and La Plaine–Stade de France (RER B).

Taxis

€56 Right Bank, €65 Left Bank, flat · 35 to 60 minutes

The flat fares are set by the Paris police prefecture and apply in both directions, whatever the traffic (parisaeroport.fr, 29 September 2026). A taxi generally takes up to four passengers; a van for up to seven can be booked in advance. Trips to the suburbs, Versailles or Disneyland Paris are on the meter.

  • Official taxis only: they wait at the “Taxi” ranks outside each terminal and have an illuminated “TAXI” sign on the roof. Turn down anyone who approaches you inside the terminal.
  • Ranks: Terminal 1, gate 24 (arrivals); 2A gate 6; 2B arrivals level; 2C gate 14; 2D gate 7; 2E gate 10; 2F gate 11; 2G the blue gate; Terminal 3, the arrivals exit; the TGV station, level 5.
  • Booking ahead avoids the queue at busy times; Paris Aéroport lists G7, Alpha Taxis and Hype Taxis as official companies.
  • For four people, the €56 Right Bank fare is the same as four RER tickets.

At night

€2.05 · about 00:30 to 05:30

When the RER stops, two Noctilien night buses run between the airport and Gare de l’Est, stopping at Gare du Nord (parisaeroport.fr, 29 September 2026):

  • N143: the faster, about 55 minutes to Gare de l’Est, roughly every 30 minutes; from the airport between 0:02 and 4:32.
  • N140: about 1 hour 25, every hour from the airport, between 1:00 and 4:00.
  • Both leave from the Roissypôle bus station (N140 platform A2, N143 platform B2) and call at Terminals 1, 2 and 3. The fare is one bus-tram ticket, €2.05, or a Navigo pass for zones 1 to 5.

Private transfers

A private car to your address, booked ahead, is worth it with children, a lot of luggage or a late landing. On GetYourGuide on 29 September 2026:

Buying a ticket

Paris transport tickets are now sold only in digital form (parisaeroport.fr, 29 September 2026):

  • On your phone.
  • On a Navigo Easy card, €2.05, which you load with tickets.

A contactless bank card does not open the gates: Île-de-France Mobilités takes one only to leave the metro at Orly airport, on the Montmartre funicular and on board some suburban buses.

The €14 airport ticket is needed for any trip to or from CDG by RER B, and it cannot share a phone or card with an ordinary €2.55 metro ticket, so keep it on its own Navigo Easy card. A Navigo pass for all zones, or a Paris Visite pass, covers the airport too; Paris metro tickets compares them.

Changes in 2027

  • 16 March 2027: Charles de Gaulle’s terminals will be renumbered 1 to 7. If you fly after that date, check which terminal your airline gives.
  • CDG Express: a train from Gare de l’Est to the airport in 20 minutes is due “by 2027”, Paris Aéroport says.

Travelling on from the airport

  • Disneyland Paris: a TGV runs from CDG 2 TGV station to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy, at the park gates, in about 10 minutes; the Magical Shuttle coach takes about 45 minutes from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2E/2F to the park and the Disney hotels. Buy park tickets before you go: see the Disneyland Paris day trip.
  • Reims and the Loire: Reims is 30 minutes by TGV from the airport, and Tours (Saint-Pierre-des-Corps), for Chenonceau, an hour. See the champagne day trip and the Loire day trip, or all of the day trips from Paris.
  • Orly and Beauvais: metro line 14 now runs from Orly to Gare de Lyon and Châtelet; Orly and Beauvais to Paris compares the options at both airports. See also what to book before you go.

The RER B stops at Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les-Halles and Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, so a hotel near one of them saves a change on the first and last day: where to stay in Paris compares the areas, and where to stay in Le Marais is a change at Châtelet–Les-Halles from the RER B. Once you are in, the tickets to book first are the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.
