💡 The Short Version: It is a long day either way. On a coach tour it is 14 hours from Paris and back, and the coach day trip with the abbey ticketad (from £76.35) includes it. On your own it is the TGV from Montparnasse to Rennes (2 hours) and a Keolis coach to the Mont (1 hour 15), each way; the first coach from Rennes arrives at 10:00 and the last leaves the Mont at 18:00, so the TGVs have to fit round it. Coach tickets are not sold on board. The abbey is €16 from 1 April to 30 September and €13 from 1 October to 31 March, closed 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. From the car parks to the abbey door is 45 minutes to an hour, much of it steps.
