💡 The Short Version: The tower has four sides to stay on. Grenelle (15e), by the Seine, has the closest hotels on this page: the Pullman (about 330 m) and the Mercure (about 360 m). The Seine and Avenue Rapp (7e), about 520 m, has the Derby Alma. École Militaire and Rue Cler (7e), south-east of the Champ de Mars, is quieter and about 1 km away, with metro line 8 to the Opéra. Trocadéro (16e) looks at the tower across the river. Book a room category, not a hotel, for the view: choose the one the hotel names, such as the Pullman’s Deluxe room with balcony and tower view. For most other sights you will take the metro: Notre-Dame is about 3 km away. Every hotel adds a tourist tax of €5.53 (3 stars) to €11.70 (5 stars) per adult per night.

The rooms that see the tower

A hotel near the tower does not mean a room that sees it. Each hotel here names its view rooms, which are sold as their own category; the table gives the one to book. The palace and five-star hotels that sell the view, and the rooftop bars, are in Paris hotels with an Eiffel Tower view.

La Comtesse says every one of its rooms sees the tower, from the front or the side.

Is it a good idea to stay near the Eiffel Tower?

For a quiet, residential base with the tower on the doorstep, yes. It is about 3 km from Notre-Dame and 4 to 5 km from Montmartre, so most other sights are a metro or RER ride: line 8 from École Militaire, line 6 from Bir-Hakeim, or the RER C along the Left Bank.
