What to see
The Picture Gallery has more than 770 works over four centuries, and the Kunstkammer is on the ground floor. Take the Picture Gallery first and the Kunstkammer after it.

- The Picture Gallery. Room X has Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s The Tower of Babel and Peasant Wedding, and the gallery also holds his Hunters in the Snow (1565). Room XII has Vermeer’s The Art of Painting, Rembrandt’s Small Self-Portrait and Ruisdael’s The Great Forest. Room 10 has Velázquez’s Infanta Margarita in a Blue Dress, and Room 8 has Arcimboldo’s Summer.
- The Kunstkammer (about 1.5 hours on average). On the ground floor, about 2,200 objects of gold, silver, ivory, coral and precious stones, with automata, watches and scientific instruments, in 20 themed spaces. Benvenuto Cellini’s salt cellar is among its highlights.
- The Egyptian and Near Eastern Collection, the Greek and Roman antiquities and the Coin Cabinet. The Coin Cabinet holds about 600,000 objects.
What to skip: the antiquities, if you have one visit. The Picture Gallery and the Kunstkammer are the two collections the museum puts first.
