In this guide
💡 The Short Version: Venice has two Michelin two-star restaurants, Glam Enrico Bartolini and Oro, and four one-star ones: Quadri, Wistèria, Local and Venissa. Michelin lists no Bib Gourmand in the city. The places named by the most of the 131 publishers counted are the Rialto market (50 sources), All’Arco (36), Cantina Do Mori (34), Cantinone Già Schiavi (33) and Osteria Al Squero (26). Al Squero is closed on Sunday, Il Paradiso Perduto on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the Rialto fish market on Sunday and Monday. Ask about the cover charge before you sit. Or book a tour: the Venice Street Food Tour with a Local Guide and Tastingsad is from €45.60 for 2.5 hours.
📊 The evidence behind this guide. Nothing here is ranked on one visit. This pass read 316 list pages, and counts the 207 from 75 English and 56 Italian publishers: newspapers and magazines (Condé Nast Traveler, Time Out, Vogue, The Infatuation, Gambero Rosso, La Cucina Italiana, Corriere del Veneto, VeneziaToday, Dissapore), food and travel writers and blogs in both languages. Venice-only, tour-operator and hotel-owned sites (47 sites, 109 pages) and listing sites such as Tripadvisor are not counted. Counts are publishers, not pages, and the English and Italian counts are shown apart. Quadri is counted as the restaurant and the café together. The Michelin Guide’s awards are printed beside the places they name. How the guides are made
⚠️ Check the day. Osteria Al Squero is closed on Sunday, Il Paradiso Perduto on Tuesday and Wednesday, Al Covo on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Quadri and Glam on Monday and Tuesday. The Rialto fish market is closed on Sunday and Monday.
Michelin and the other awards
Michelin’s Venice list has two two-star restaurants and four one-star restaurants in the lagoon, and no three-star (Michelin Guide). Its three Bib Gourmand restaurants in the Venice area, Da Flavio e Fabrizio “Al Teatro” in Mirano, Il Sogno in Vetrego and Da Paeto in Pianiga, are on the mainland. The classic bacari are not on Michelin’s page: Cantina Do Mori, Cantinone Già Schiavi, Alla Vedova and Al Timon are among the places the lists name most. Slow Food’s Osterie d’Italia 2026 gives no top mark, a chiocciola, to any osteria in the city of Venice.
