Firenze Card: is it worth €85? What it covers, what it leaves out and the sums for 72 hours

The Firenze Card is €85 for 72 hours and covers more than 60 museums, but not the Duomo complex. The sums: it loses to separate tickets for the Uffizi, Accademia and Palazzo Vecchio, saves €6 once Palazzo Pitti is added and €58.50 on a heavy three days. 💡 The Short Version: The Firenze Card is €85 for 72 hours and covers more than 60 museums, but not the Duomo complex. The sums: for the Uffizi, Accademia and Palazzo Vecchio alone, separate tickets are €72, so the card costs €13 more. With Palazzo Pitti it saves €6, and with Santa Croce, Santa Maria Novella, the Arnolfo Tower and the Museo Galileo €58.50. The 72 hours run non-stop, so start on a Tuesday morning: the Uffizi, Accademia, Pitti, Bargello and Medici Chapels are shut on Mondays. Six places need a booked time. Buy at firenzecard.it. The Accademia and Bargello €26 ticket and the €38 six-museum ticket are cheaper if those are your sights.

What the card is

The official card is sold at firenzecard.it and at the museums’ sales points. It is the same €85 either way, and search results include resellers: GetYourGuide’s Firenze Card listing, for example, starts at €94.

  • Price and validity: €85 per adult, valid for 72 hours from your first museum entry. Buy it shortly before arriving. An online purchase voucher is valid for six months.
  • Format: a digital card in the Firenzecard app (iOS 16.0 or later, Android 11.0 or later), or a physical card collected in Florence with your printed voucher and an ID. It is personal and cannot be passed on.
  • Children: under-18s of your family are added free, and they need reservations too. Under-18s are free at the state museums anyway. No discounts for students or seniors.
  • Included: the entrance ticket, exhibition supplements and booking fees for the museums of the circuit. One entry per museum.
  • Not included: the Duomo complex, and public transport in Florence or to the airport. The Vasari Corridor is a €20 supplement.
  • Pitti: card holders collect a ticket valid for the palace’s museums in the Ammannati Courtyard, and keep it for the card’s whole validity.

  • The Duomo is separate. The Brunelleschi Pass is €30 on top: see Duomo tickets.

The Monday trap

The 72 hours run continuously from the first entry. Start on a Friday morning and Monday, when the Uffizi, Accademia, Palazzo Pitti, the Bargello and the Medici Chapels are shut, uses a third of the card. Start on a Tuesday morning and the card runs to Friday morning. Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Croce, Santa Maria Novella, San Lorenzo, the Museo Galileo and the Brancacci Chapel are the Monday sights, and the Brancacci Chapel is shut on Tuesdays. On the first Sunday of the month the state museums are free, so the card saves nothing at them that day: the next are 1 November and 6 December 2026.

Who the card suits

  • Three working days with eight or more sights, started on a Tuesday morning.
  • Visitors who want the booking fees waived: the Uffizi’s €4 and the Accademia’s €4 are in the price.

Who it does not suit

  • A two-day visit, with the Uffizi, Accademia and Palazzo Vecchio: separate tickets cost €13 less.
  • Anyone whose list is the Duomo, the Accademia and the Bargello: the €26 and €38 tickets cost less, and the Duomo is not on the card.
  • Anyone arriving on the first Sunday of a month, when the state museums are free.

The Uffizi page has the afternoon ticket at €16, which the card does not need. What to book before you go to Florence has the closed days for every sight, and Florence museums lists the prices of those the card covers. Florence in one or two days and 3 days in Florence plan the order. Florence public transport has the bus and tram fares, which the card leaves out, and where to stay in Florence compares the areas.

Common questions

How much is the Firenze Card?

€85 for an adult, the same online and at a sales point, valid for 72 hours from your first museum entry. Children under 18 in your family are added free. There are no student or senior rates.

Does the Firenze Card include the Duomo?

No. The Duomo complex needs its own pass: €30 for the Brunelleschi Pass with the dome. The card covers more than 60 museums, including the Uffizi, the Accademia, Palazzo Pitti, the Bargello, Palazzo Vecchio and its tower, Santa Croce and Santa Maria Novella.

Do I still need to book with the Firenze Card?

Yes, for six places. Reservation is mandatory, at no extra cost, for the Uffizi, the Accademia, Palazzo Vecchio, the Arnolfo Tower, the Brancacci Chapel and Palazzo Medici Riccardi.

Is the Firenze Card worth it for three days?

Only with enough sights. The Uffizi, Accademia and Palazzo Vecchio booked separately are €72, so the card costs €13 more. Add Palazzo Pitti (€91) and it saves €6, and with Santa Croce, Santa Maria Novella, the Arnolfo Tower and the Museo Galileo it saves €58.50.

What is the Firenzecard Restart?

A €28 pass that adds 48 hours to an expired card, for the museums you have not visited. It is sold from 1 March 2026, online only, is used in the card's app, and must be bought within 12 months of the original card.

Does the Firenze Card include buses?

No. It does not cover public transport in Florence or the airport.
