River Liffey sightseeing cruise
From €21 · 45 minutes · 5,417 reviews
Dublin: River Liffey Sightseeing Cruisead is run by Dublin Discovered on an all-weather boat that holds 48 passengers. The guide covers the Vikings, the Ha’penny Bridge, the Custom House and the redevelopment of the Docklands, and the boat sails past the Jeanie Johnston. It leaves from a pontoon at the Sean O’Casey Footbridge on Custom House Quay, opposite the CHQ building, so arrive 10 minutes early. Sailings depend on the tide, and if yours is affected you are contacted about an alternative. Cancel up to 24 hours ahead for a full refund.
What to see
EPIC is a self-guided museum in the CHQ building on Custom House Quay, in the Docklands. Its 20 interactive galleries follow people who left Ireland and what they took with them: how Irish emigrants built lives abroad, the influence of Irish culture from country music to Riverdance, sportspeople and political leaders, and Irish work in literature and science.

- The Irish Family History Centre. Inside the museum, with genealogists who book consultations in advance.
- The Jeanie Johnston. A replica of a 19th-century emigrant ship two minutes’ walk away. EPIC sells a guided tour of it with the museum.
