Practical information
- Bags: the Mauritshuis admits bags up to A4 size, keeps the rest in a free cloakroom or lockers (a 50 cent coin), and cannot store suitcases, so use the lockers at Den Haag Centraal. It takes cards and phones only, not cash.
- Closed days: Royal Delft is closed on 25 and 26 December (Christmas and the Light Festival) and 1 January, and closes at 16:00 on 24 and 31 December (New Year in Amsterdam). The Mauritshuis is closed on 25 December and 1 January 2027.
- Rotterdam: Rotterdam to Delft is €4.40, so Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Delft, The Hague and back is €43.20. The Rotterdam guide has the Markthal, the Cube Houses and the harbour.
Delft and The Hague are two of the day trips from Amsterdam, which compares them with Haarlem, Rotterdam and the Zaanse Schans on fare and time. What to book before you go to Amsterdam has the Anne Frank House and museum slots to plan around.
