Leonardo Express

€14 · 32 minutes to Termini · every 15 minutes, 5:38 to 23:27 from the airport

Trenitalia’s non-stop train from the airport station to Roma Termini, where metro lines A and B cross and the fast trains to Naples and Florence leave. The station is inside the airport, a walk from the arrivals halls; follow the train signs (adr.it, 29 September 2026).

  • Back to the airport trains leave Termini from 4:50 to 23:05.
  • Tickets are sold at the station ticket offices, at machines in the airport and the station, on Trenitalia’s app and site, and at cafés and newsagents.
  • Children: under-4s travel free, and ages 4 to 11 travel free with a paying adult, one child per adult.
  • City ticket: ATAC’s €1.50 BIT is not valid on it (atac.roma.it, 30 September 2026).

FL1 regional train

€8 · 51 minutes to Termini with a change · every 15 minutes on weekdays, every 30 at weekends

The FL1 is a slower stopping train that goes to Trastevere, Ostiense and Tiburtina stations but not to Termini. It suits a hotel in Trastevere or near Tiburtina; for Termini, the Leonardo Express is quicker and needs no change. It runs every 15 minutes on working days and every 30 minutes at weekends and on public holidays.

Several companies run coaches from Fiumicino to Termini; their stands are on the arrivals level of Terminal 3 (adr.it, 29 September 2026). Night coaches to Termini run after midnight.

Rome Airport Bus–Schiaffini (stand 19) and T.A.M. (stand 17) also run to Termini, and Cotral leaves from the T1 stop. Terravision’s tickets can be changed, and are valid for 12 months. Via Crescenzio is in Prati, a few minutes’ walk from St Peter’s.

Official taxis are white, with a TAXI sign on the roof, the city’s crest on the front doors and a licence number on the doors, the back and inside (adr.it, 29 September 2026). Any other car touting for fares in arrivals may be unlicensed and charge more.

Terravision runs non-stop to Termini, about every 40 minutes, from €6.50. SIT Bus Shuttle leaves from stand 2 for Termini (Via Marsala 5), and Rome Airport Bus–Schiaffini also runs to Termini. Tickets are sold online, from agents in the arrivals hall or on board (adr.it, 29 September 2026). ATAC buses 520 and 720

€1.50 BIT · to metro lines A and B

Two ATAC city buses run from the airport to the metro: the 520 to Cinecittà and Subaugusta on line A, and the 720 to Laurentina on line B. The ordinary €1.50 BIT ticket is valid on both, and on the metro ride that follows within its 100 minutes (atac.roma.it, 30 September 2026).
