What the price leaves out

The Acropolis ticket is €30 and the Acropolis Museum €20, both from their own shops: see Acropolis tickets and Acropolis Museum tickets.

PlanCost

The same, with the Museum€79 with the €20 Museum ticket
Free entry daysThe tour fee only; see free things to do in Athens

Entry to the Acropolis is by timed slot. The listings say latecomers cannot be accommodated or refunded and that security checks can take 30 minutes or more in peak season. The Minister of Culture has said that private sellers’ “skip the line” tickets are a deception, because of the nature of the Propylaia, and the Acropolis tickets are non-refundable. Free entry for under-25s is for EU citizens, so visitors aged 18 to 25 from the UK, US, Canada and Australia pay the full ticket. For tours that visit the Agora as well, see the archaeological sites guide.

Common questions

Do Acropolis guided tours include the entry ticket?

Mostly not. The headline prices from €27.20 to €34 are the guide's fee, and the €30 Acropolis ticket is an option on top. Choose the option with tickets to have the entry included, or buy the ticket yourself on the Hellenic Heritage shop for the time slot the operator gives.

Can you skip the queue at the Acropolis with a tour?

No. Entry to the Acropolis is by timed slot, and the Ministry of Culture has said private sellers' skip-the-line tickets cannot exist at the Propylaia. One listing says plainly that there is no fast-track separate entrance. Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before the tour, because latecomers cannot be accommodated.

How much is a small-group Acropolis tour in Athens?

From €30.80 for a group of up to 8 (Athens Blue) and from €33.75 for up to 12 (Truevoyagers). Alternative Athens' small-group mythology tour is from €45. The ticket is an option on each.

How much is the hop-on hop-off bus in Athens?

City Sightseeing is from €17.60, with 24-, 48- and 72-hour tickets; the Gray Line blue bus is from €12 for 2 days from first use; the Big Bus is from €20.40. All are GetYourGuide's lowest prices for one adult.

Is there a night walking tour in Athens?

Yes: a night walking tour with a local guide from €18, and the Tales of the Underworld lantern-led night walk from €25.13, both about 2 hours on GetYourGuide.
